Hello everyone, I am trying to install the SSC included with my Symantec AntiVirus 10.0.2 package. The problem I am having is that the installation instructions say: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Symantec System Center am not familiar with it. Is it supported on SBS? Are you using the Symantec corporate antivirus product? That's what you ought to use, if you really really want to use Symantec at all (it isn't my fave, personally.)Hello Lanwench, Yes this product is supported in a server environment. And this is a corporate edition. The symantec system center is the central point of control & configuration for the SAV Corp clients. I have been using this product for some time, the issue
Hello everyone, can someone point me in the right direction. I trying to set up OWA and VPN. I have searched all the useful entries everyone has posted and I've tried to configure SBS2003 based on that information. I've found the www.smallbizserver.net and the http://msmvps. ;ve not looked at. Its driving me bonkers, and after 2 weeks I have to sheepishly ask for some advice. I swore to myself that this must be a simple problem, but I don't think I'm as clever as I thought I was. :-( thanks to anyone and everyone..wouldn't gotten this far if it wasn't for your useful messages MarioHi Mario, What is the error you get when you try to connect, via OWA, and via VPN ? Hello everyone, I have a quick query that I would like to ask, but before i do I just want to make it clear that I have no intention of using illegal software copies or teying to dodge MS licensing requirements. Ok, I have a client whom has asked about installing SBS2003 which to be honest is a new beast to me. Now I notice when you buy the software it comes with 5 CALs that you can add to if needed.
Hello Everyone, Is there a way to configure outlook with the RPC over HTTP to an allready existing Outlook 2003 profile which also happens to be an "Exchange Server Mail Account". The enduser wants to avoid the prompt are inside the LAN it will act normally and when you are outside you have to enter the password). I did follow the instructions on the RWW site as they appear. The issue is that I have an existing Microsoft Exchange Server email account allready setup pointing to another exchange server and try to add another new Microsoft Exchange Email account the application
Hello Everyone, SBS 2003, with WinXP Prof workstations: I'm having some intermitent issues with logging in (slow) and staying connected to networked printers. Hello Everyone, I have had my SBS2003 server running with one user for a couple of weeks--after having issues that everyone on here was very helpful to resolve. I am now ready to connectcomputer the staff to our server. My problem is that our Executive Director uses Outlook as an historical record of all of his emails now near 15,000. I have tried asking him to delete the one's he doesn't need but still as a record of his work, this number will not diminish much, and will continue to grow. I know that Exchange has
Hello Everyone, I was wondering if there existed any useful training materials for explaining to our staff all of the powerful features of companyweb, Sharepoint, etc. I need to train my small office of non-networked staff how to use Sharepoint, and companyweb and was hoping someone had developed a PowerPoint or other materials for presenting the system to new users. This has decreased spam in 95% !!
Hello Everyone Internally, people on my LAN can access the RWW by typing http:\\servername\remote. I want to enable this for external access via https:\\externalip\remote. I have run the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard. When users go to the URL at the moment they see "this page is under construction". What am I doing wrong/what do I do now? Thanks in advance for your help.Hello Kelly Thank you for using Microsoft Online support traffic to your server and redirecting it to a different Web server or that port forwarding on your router is pointing to a different address on your lan than the Small Business server. Hello everyone, I am new to this user group so please be kind ;) I currently have SBS 2003 configured as one large C: drive as follows: RAID 5 Array (4 x 80GB SATA on LSI Logic MegaRAID SATA 150-4 controller) 3 x 80GB RAID 5 (160GB capacity) 1 x 80GB Hot Spare I recently configured both Exchange 2003 and SQL Server 2000 on this server and I am amp;#39;s used Ghost 2003 knows that you can image a server in short time and restore it to another server of same type in a very short amount of time, and there are few complications. Hello everyone I am trying to set up a user group in SBS 2003 for users with very restricted access rights. Hello everyone. We found the "Windows File Protection" message on the SBS2K server today requesting the SP4 CD. I have some questions about this. 1. Must we have a CD for this? I originally installed SP4 from files I put on the hard drive, but there doesn't seem to be a way to point "Windows File Protection" to a directory. Am I right in assuming I need to burn the SP4 files onto a CD to

Hello everyone I thank you in advance for your help. I purchased a book, "Windows Small Business Server 2003 Administrator's Companion," published by MSPress, written by Charlie Russell, Sharon Crawford and Jason Gerend. For the most part, this book has been an excellent resource for me, as I am new to running Windows Server of any kind. However, I have two questions I am hoping for assistance in answering. Hello Everyone! I have just started an SBS server. There is somting I don't like when a user browse the network to find a map on the server they see a lot of maps on the server that they donät need to see. How can I hide them? Thanks! You can hide shares by placing a $ at the end of the sharename. The user can still connect to the share if he/she knows the path but it won't show in the browse list. Thank you very much for any help. The clients need both DC's as DNS entries, otherwise when the primary DNS server is down, the client cant use the second DNS server to locate a DC to use for logon.Hello, thank you for the reply again. I tried your suggestion, and still did not fix the problem. I wonder if it is a limitation of Small Business Server 2000? It seems to always authenticate to the Windows 2003 server which isn't SBS. When the 2003 box is down, everyone can't login, but I did make sure all the dns records are correctly on both servers. Thank you.No. install the support tools on the 2003 DC and run; dcdiag /c /e /v and post the unedited output. also, from a symptomatic workstation run and post
Hello Everyone I just started working for a company, i wont say the name but kinda disappointed in some of the things im finding in the field. Now by nature SBS is a special animal in itself. Holds alot of the key core networking issues within the machine. Everyone thinks you can just proceed with installations via the way you add users and computers thru AD when using a regular Windows 2k3 server. Was just at a client site and was asked to install and get RWW working. When i went to the client site i figured oh thats easy rerun the CEICW and everything should be fine. Well when i got to site the server management console was removed from the clients server. Now according to MS PS

I get a report of a skipped file which is "C:\documents and Settings\Network Service\Application Data\Microsoft\CLR Security Config\v1.1.4322\Security.config.cch.2920.147371343." Is this normal for this file to report being open and the backup job skips it? Thank you for any valuable input.
